COLLEGE BASKETBALL — March 16
TEXAS TECH at SETON HALL
NIT Tournament
(Seton Hall -9) — It certainly doesn’t sound so appetizing to make the case for Texas Tech, which finished its season by losing eight of its last nine games. However, there is some encouragement to be taken from the win over Colorado in the Big 12 tourney, followed by a nip-and-tuck battle with Kansas, at least for a while. The Red Raiders are not that short on talent, and coach Pat Knight learned from his father Bob that the NIT is a tournament to be respected. Seton Hall is a team that can play at a fast pace or even in slow tempo, but the Pirates covered eight of their 25 games on the board, were a lousy 4-10 ATS as a favorite, and is 0-6 ATS in their last six at home.
