COLLEGE BASKETBALL — March 6
SETON HALL at PROVIDENCE
(Seton Hall -2) — [private] Providence showed a lot of fight against Pittsburgh the other night, but the Friars might be a little drained from that near-miss. At home they have covered only two of 12 outings, and Seton Hall doesn’t commit enough mistakes with the ball (10.9 TO’s/game) to give Providence the kind of opportunities that will offset its lack of defense. We certainly know that the Pirates can trade points, and Bobby Gonzalez gets his team to bear down a littler more on the stop end (41.9% FG’s allowed). Seton Hall is still angling for an NIT bid, while Providence will have to pull off miracles in order to go any further.
