COLLEGE BASKETBALL — March 21
DUKE vs. CALIFORNIA
NCAA Tournament @ Jacksonville
(Duke -6, Total 143.5) — Both of these teams can fill it up from the perimeter, and we greatly respect the Cal trio of Jerome Randle, Theo Robertson and Patrick Christopher, all seniors, who can certainly handle pressure. However, Cal is challenged in terms of size (Jamal Boykin, a Duke transfer, is the only productive forward), while the Blue Devils have more effective depth up front. Also, edges on defense are evident. There is probably more in the way of physical pounding Duke can do, and with people like Kyle Singlar, Nolan Smith and Jon Scheyer on hand, Duke can stretch what is a so-so California defense.
