COLLEGE BASKETBALL — March 26
CBI Semifinals
HOUSTON (+3.5) at TULSA (Total 142.5) — We would agree that Tulsa’s defense (41% FG’s allowed) is probably a bit more challenging from Houston than Horizon League rep Valparaiso. But the Golden Hurricanes often suffer from lack of effective ball movement (minus-1.22 assists-turnover ratio), and the Cougars have the weapon that can make up for a lot of mistakes in Robert McKiver, who essentially took things over against Valpo, netting 33 points and combining with Kelvin Lewis to hit 13 of 27 from tripleville. Sure, Houston won’t likely hit a very high percentage. And Tulsa has covered its last six home games. But right now they lead the nation in three-pointers (11.1 per game) and are seventh best in terms of turnovers (11 per game) and that’s a pretty good combination against a non-explosive team like Tulsa when you;re getting points.
