COLLEGE BASKETBALL — March 26
NIT Quarterfinals
DAYTON (+8) at OHIO STATE (Total 125.5) — Chris Wright, Dayton’s standout 6′8″ freshman forward, didn’t play much of the Flyers’ win over Illinois State. But his return to the lineup was a tremendous boost for this team, which should get more from him and from Charles Little in this one. Marcus Johnson had also averaged almost 17 points a game in his previous five before the Illinois State game. dayton may be peaking in this tournament, especially on defense, as the Flyers have allowed just 36% shooting to opponents. Granted, Ohio State is on an uptick offensively right now, with three efforts of 50% or better from the field in the last four games. But Dayton is perfectly capable of matching firepower with sharp-shooting Brian Roberts, who is a sizzling 7-for-12 (58%) from three-point range in the NIT.
