PRO BASKETBALL — February 28
NEW ORLEANS at DALLAS
(Mavericks -8, Total 198) — [private] Dallas is on a hot streak right now, with six straight wins, but the Mavs have had their problems covering numbers at home, with a 7-21 ATS record. Meanwhile, this may sound sacrilegious, but the Hornets don’t lose a whole lot with Chris Paul out of the lineup. Darren Collison has played as well as any rookie in the NBA while he’s been a starter, scoring over 20 points in seven of the last nine games, and averaging ten assists and a couple of steals over the last dozen. Sure, it’s a challenge going on the road, but New Orleans bounced back from two straight losses with an impressive win over Orlando on Friday. Lots of room in this number.
