PRO BASKETBALL — May 9
Game 3 — Western Conference Playoffs
LA LAKERS (+5) at UTAH (Total 215) — Things couldn’t get much worse for the Utah Jazz than in the first two games in Los Angeles against the Lakers, both losses, in which the team shot 38%, then 44.6%. It has now been just one time in the last ten games that the Jazz has reached 50% shooting in a game. Carlos Boozer hasn’t gotten to the 20-point mark in the last seven post-season contests, and he has hit nine of 24 shots against the Lakers. It really isn’t happening for Utah right now, and even with their 37-4 SU and 29-12 ATS records at Energy Solutions Arena in the regular season, the Lakers can counter with their own marks of 27-14 SU and 27-13-1 ATS as the visitor. The Jazz just hasn’t responded positively to playoff-level defense, so we’re more comfortable taking points against them until further notice.
