PRO BASKETBALL — May 10
Game 4 — Eastern Conference Playoffs
DETROIT (+4.5) at ORLANDO (Total 187) — Chauncey Billups’ hamstring is obviously the big concern here. Even if he is able to play, it would be hard to imagine he’d be close to 100% if that was serious enough for him to leave Game 3 after just four minutes of action. The backup, Rodney Stuckey, can score but isn’t nearly the floor leader Billups is; he had two assists and two turnovers in the last contest. With Antonio McDyess (scoreless on Wednesday) also handicapped with his broken nose, the Pistons are in some deep water. When Detroit had to take Stuckey off the bench and make him the lead guard, that left them with eight additional points off the bench - that’s it. Maybe the Pistns can borrow some dribblers from Orlando, as Keith Bogans, Keyon Dooling and Carlos Arroyo (former Piston) are all sitting over there in reserve. Obviously we wouldn’t expect the Magic to hit 54% fromt he field again, but the 11 three-pointers in Game 3 was nothing too unusual for a club that made ten per outing in the regular season.
