PRO BASKETBALL — May 10
Game 3 — Eastern Conference Playoffs
BOSTON (+1) at CLEVELAND (Total 176) — It’s already been publicized that for anyone taking a minimum of 40 shots, LeBron James’ 8-for-42 (19%) marksmanship in this series thus far was the lowest of anyone in the first two games of a playoff series in the shot-clock era. That kind of thing presents very real problems when an offense is dependent on one individual, but you can’t expect that LeBron will kept down for very long. Keep in mind that when he was going through his 2-for-18 shooting in game 1, this team still hung tough because they can play in the halfcourt. Also keep in mind a couple of other things - that he averaged 32 points a game against the Celts in the regular season; that the Cavs won both meetings against Boston at the Quicken Loans Arena, and that this new incarnation of the Celtics has yet to win a road playoff game. Cleveland is perfectly capable of extending this series.
