BASEBALL — May 9
COLORADO (Cook) at SAN DIEGO (Peavy) (Line: San Diego -150/+130, Total 6.5) — the total is pretty low in this one, but you have two legit aces of their respective staffs here - Jake Peavy won the Cy Young last year and has started this season with a 2.66 ERA where opponents are batting .200 against him. The Padres, who average 3.34 runs per game, have scored five runs per start for Peavy. Aaron Cook, however, has yielded just four runs in his last 30 innings, in addition to posting a 1.98 ERA in his last five starts against San Diego. The price is worth taking, since Colorado averages more than a run more per game than San Diego and the Padres have hardly taken advantage of their home field (just 6-9 at Petco).
