BASEBALL — May 12
CHICAGO WHITE SOX (Buehrle) at L.A. ANGELS (Adenhart) (Line: L.A. Angels -115/-105; Total 9) — Los Angeles has lost its lead in the American League West to Oakland, at least for the time being, although it is hardly time to push the panic button. At this price, Chicago and Buehrle look like the value against Nick Adenhart, a highly-regarded L.A. pitching prospect who was touched up again in his second start against the Royals, allowing six hits and walking five in just 4-1/3 innings six days ago. Adenhart’s WHIP ratio is now at an astronomical 3.00, and part of that involves not being able to get the ball over the plate with consistency, a problem he had in the minors as well, despite his 0.87 ERA. Until he demonstrates that he can control the ball, we will move against him.
